Project Description
The Fort Rock Tunnel project, prominently featuring Marcum & Sons as the principal contractor, was a key component of Sunriver, Oregon's infrastructure development. This extensive project encompassed the replacement of two existing tunnels and the addition of a new tunnel on Abbot Drive, integrated with a roundabout project completed in 2019.
In collaboration with Century West Engineering and Tennis Engineering, Marcum & Sons employed a design-build strategy, focusing on cost-effectiveness and efficiency. The 2022 phase of the project, targeting the tunnel leading into Fort Rock Park, aimed to resolve flooding issues. This was achieved through a newly constructed cast-in-place tunnel, which included a stormwater collection and detention system, offering an efficient and aesthetically pleasing solution. This project highlights Marcum & Sons' ability to innovate and collaborate effectively in large-scale infrastructure projects.
